You might not expect some items to be included in a lease agreement when there would actually be a lot of problems if they weren’t. When you have never lived in a rented place, it’s important to start by getting informed and making sure that the following items are actually included in the agreement itself:

  • Unlike most rental agreements, a lease agreement is typically somewhat more long term. You might expect it to end every 1-2 months and be renewed by the landlord and tenant, but lease agreements actually last for a year or more.
  • Any financial data and details associated with the property and the lease agreement have to be included. You need to be aware of how much you have to pay, what fees are included, what security deposits you need to provide and how you might or might not be able to use your security deposit.
  • The inclusion of any amenities or electronics should be disclosed. For instance, if the property has a water heater, a washer, a dishwasher, or comes with cable and internet service, all of that needs to be included into the lease agreement.
  • Finally, make sure that any non-refundable fees are mentioned as well. For instance, these could have to do with cleaning services or paying extra if you have pets.  Be sure to look at the apartments in Centerton at https://www.watercolorsofcenterton.com/.
